Tay biked across the US and raised money for KAFK

02.12.2018

During the summer of 2018, Tay Tantivirun biked from the west to the east coast of the United States, and raised money for KAFK along the way! Check out the map of the trip in the gallery below. A huge thank you to Tay for his amazing effort and for leading by example! We hope his story inspires others to use what they are passionate about to help others around them.

Tay writes:

It has been a pleasure to work with Kids Action For Kids and help raise funds to support such a great cause. Throughout my bike trip from Seattle, Washington to Ann Arbor, Michigan I learned a great deal about myself and what it means to give wholeheartedly. Along the way I met many kinds souls willing to lend a helping hand – whether it’s providing me with food and water or a warm shelter from the storm. Within me I discovered a sense of peace and tranquility. Everyday I am thankful for all the little things in life such as a warm shower or a hot meal. Most importantly, I am grateful for all the help and support that I received throughout me journey.

Riding my bike everyday regardless of snow, rain, or wind has completely changed my outlook on life. I feel a sense of completeness and learn to embrace the daily struggles. I realized that it’s not about the final destination but rather the process within the journey that makes life worth living. Thanks to my bicycle, I learn to cherish every single moment – the warmth of the sun on my back, the deep and brilliant blue sky, the vast expanse of the mountains, and the different shades of green across the horizon. I am truly grateful for the company of other human beings and know deep within my heart that I am never alone. Most importantly I would like to thank my family for all the sacrifices that they made to ensure a brighter future for me. Thank you. ขอบคุณครับ
