Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital in Korat, Thailand, August 2018

24.08.2018

Kids Action for Kids, OST and financial partners funded an ongoing surgery mission for 100 children at Maharat Nakorn Ratchasima hospital in Korat, Thailand, that kicked off on August 23rd 2018.

This is the 17th time KAFK has helped fund an Operation Smile Thailand mission. Our volunteers visited the hospital to meet up with doctors, nurses, patients and parents. Four of the patients had surgery that day and we were allowed to observe one of the surgeries. It is a fantastic experience to follow the process from meeting the patients before surgery, then seeing the “magic” change that happens during the operation, and then at the end to see the parents re-joined with their child after the surgery is completed and they can see the big change that has happened.

The surgeries will continue in the coming months for a total of 100 cleft lip and cleft palate patients.

Thank you very much to all of our supporters and donors who make this possible. After severe problems with eating, speaking and often social stigma, it means getting a new life for those who receive surgery.
